Personalized Instruction

Students will receive access to a personalized curriculum via Khan Academy that targets specific concepts they need to reinforce. Parents and students will be an active part of choosing concepts and refining the overall learning plan. Because no two students are the same, no two learning plans will be identical.

Mastery Based Learning

Students will progress at their own pace through the material, only moving on when they can demonstrate mastery of a subject. Students will have access to regular, low pressure assessments to evaluate learning and adapt plans as necessary. A 75% mastery threshold ensures students do not progress to new material before they are ready.

Flexible Scheduling

Unlike the Ahead of the Curve courses, Bridge the Gap allows students to select a custom day and time that works for their schedule. This allows us to plan around sports, activities, and vacations when necessary. Students will also have the ability to skip and/or postpone lessons when they cannot make it, within the dates that courses are available.

Interactive Teaching Methods

Our content will be pulled from Khan Academy, but additional activities and resources will be used to make the content interesting and enjoyable. We rely heavily on student engagement to make learning fun and memorable. This engagement helps students master concepts and remember them long-term, improving their performance in math classes during the year.

Seamless Online Experience

Sessions will be conducted via Zoom, allowing students to join lessons from anywhere. If a student does not wish to miss sessions due to travel or vacations, they will be able to join class just like they do at home. This keeps their learning and progress consistent through the whole summer, while still allowing them to have fun and be a kid.
